Car Shipping to Cyprus
Getting your car from the UK to Cyprus is relatively easy when compared to shipping to other countries across the world. Organising the loading of your car into a shipping container for transportation to Cyprus can be done effectivley and easily.
The shipping process usually takes no more than a few weeks, depending on the destination and frequency of the shipping routes. This generally means that if you ship your car a few weeks before you move to Cyprus you will be able to meet it at the other end, without having to wait too long.
Moving Pets to Cyprus
To move your pet to Cyprus you must ensure that following:
- Your pet is accompanied by a EU Pet Passport (EUPP), which is kept for the lifetime of the animal and contains both animal and owner details. This is maintained by your pet's vet.
- Your pet is over 3 months old and has received all the required vaccination, treatment and identification documents.
- Your pet in clinically inspected by a qualified vet no more than 72 hours before the time of departure.
On arrival in Cyprus the vetinary or customs office on duty will check your pet's condition and the required paperwork with a compulsory charge of between CYP 25 or around £30 (CYP 35 or around £40 after hours). If your pet does not pass the required inspections it can still enter the country but will be subject to 6 months quarantine.
Finally, some breeds of dog are not allowed to enter Cyprus regardless of their condition and accompanying paperwork. These include:
- American Pit Bull / Pit Bull Terrier
- Japanese Tosa
- Argentinian Mastiff / Dogo Argentino
- Brazilian Mastiff / Fila Brasileiro
