Geography
France has a variety of landscapes from the coastal plains in the north and west to the mountain range of the Alps on the south-east. Mont Blanc, which is the highest point in western Europe is also located in France, on its border with Italy. The climate of the Alps and over mountainous areas within France is mainly alpine in nature.

The more low lying and coastal areas in the south experience warmer, more Mediterranean weather. It is this weather that attracts tourists to this area of France and makes it an ideal location to live.
