Armishaws Removals is a long established removals business with management expertise in all aspects of UK, European and Worldwide removals.
Founded in 1973, Armishaws are based in the South West and provide removal services across the UK, Europe and as far afield as Australia. We recognise every house move is as individual as the contents and family members involved, that’s why we create bespoke relocation services tailored to each client’s exact needs. Put us to the test and get your free quote today.
We’re proud of the fact we help move all homes great and small, from key personnel at Kensington Palace to country cottages and everything in between. We’ve relocated glass manufactures, artisan craft makers, helped families make big moves overseas and provide overnight (or long-term) storage for tricky relocations. Whatever your removal requirements, we have the experience and expertise to not only give you a swift relocation but also help take away the stress often associated with moving house.
Armishaws are market leaders in providing greener removals. We’re committed to reducing the environmental impact of every move, to be innovators within the removals industry and lead the way in providing greener relocations. This isn’t merely ‘commercial lip-service’, we’re taking a long term view to offering more sustainable services.

Armishaws accept the following forms of payment:
Lloyd Armishaw – Director & Founder
Lloyd established The Armishaws Group in 1973. The original ‘man with a van’, the professional, customer focused service he set out to provide has become the cornerstone of the company as we’ve grown. As Director Lloyd Armishaw is still heavily involved in every aspect of the company.
Pat Carter – General Manager
Joined the team 1998
Pat has over 40 years’ experience (man and boy) in European and UK removals. Helping removals in some of Britain’s grandest houses, there’s nothing in the world of removals that Pat hasn’t seen or dealt with before. He’s the font of all relocation knowledge.
Strange Pat Fact
Away from work, Pat can be found growing prize winning veg and flowers, or shouting at men with funny shaped balls (he’s a huge Exeter Chiefs rugby fan).
David Armishaw – Director
Joined the team 2002
David joined the family business at the age of 12, helping out at our depots. School holidays were often spent on the road with our crews, learning from the drivers and porters (and dodging his homework). Today there’s no aspect of removals David hasn’t worked in.
Strange David Fact
A serial inventor who is very (too?) enthusiastic about power tools. Two things not to do with David, let him build something in your garden, leave him alone with hydrogen.
Chris Lewis – Group Sales Manager
Joined the team in 2005
Chris previously spent “A lifetime in newspapers” becoming National Sales Manager of The Daily Express and Sunday Express among others. He once rode a horse from St Pauls to Somerset over 10 days to raise money for charity (and to enjoy the coaching inns along the way!).
Strange Chris Fact
Chris once visited a client who informed him, he never made a decision without consulting his trees and insisted Chris join him. For the next 20 minutes Chris stood in the garden, hugging a 200-year-old oak, while the gentleman stood on the other side, asking the tree for advice.
Steve Mobly – Transport Manager
Joined the team in 2007
Steve is a passionate cook and loves to smoke his own fish and meat (we mean he adds flavour through heat, he doesn’t set light to it and inhale it). Mr Reliable, it’s impossible to make Steve panic, got a problem, Steve will sort it.
Strange Steve Fact
A compulsive vinyl junky, (and yes, we can and do judge him on his musical taste… which is terrible!) Steve’s record collection is rapidly outgrowing his house.
Naomi Burden – MoD Removals Co-Ordinator
Joined the team in 2010
When not looking after our MoD clients, Naomi loves baking cakes and cookies. She equally enjoys eating cakes and cookies. The rest of the time she can be found endlessly chasing and tidying up after her young family and cat. Mostly the cat.
Strange Naomi Fact
She’s incredibly crafty (by that we mean she creates wonderful things using craftwork, not cunning/dastardly plans).
Berni Battley – Accounts Manager
Joined the team in 2013
Berni worked in the steel industry for over 25 years, her CV says she was Credit Controller, we think she was probably carrying girders single handed (you don’t mess with our Berni!). Today she manages the Armishaws accounts with frightening efficiency and a deceptively strong grip.
Strange Berni Fact
While she might appear the type that takes no prisoners, and you certainly don’t want her chasing you, Berni’s actually a real softie (just don’t tell her we said so!).
Kirsty Hart – Sales Coordinator
Joined the team in June 2018
The front line of our office team, there’s nothing Kirsty can’t handle. She’s also brilliant with the kettle (first one to make teas in the morning, thanks Kirsty!). Life before Armishaws involved working for the MOD and other family businesses.
Strange Kirsty Fact
Kirsty’s two greatest passions are her cats and bottles of cider. She never leaves home without kissing them goodbye. She’s also affectionate with her cats.
Kye Harman – Marketing Manager
Joined the team in 2020
A stranger in a strange land, Kye isn’t originally from Somerset or the South West, he doesn’t even like pasties! Kye joined our team at the height of the Covid pandemic, bringing his creative skills and some frankly appalling shirts with him.
Strange Kye Fact
Before getting a ‘proper job’, Kye was a singer/actor who travelled the world and appeared in movies and TV shows such as Silent Witness, Prime Suspect and Eastenders (doof, doof, doof, doo-doo-d-d-d-doof!).
Tate Young – Web Designer
Joined the team in 2021
Tate came onboard as part of our new in-house studio team and runs all our websites and digital operations. He’s the C3PO to our bleeping R2D2 (he’s also a huge sci-fi and Star Wars fan). A brilliant designer and visual artist, he drives one of the worst cars we’ve ever seen!
Strange Tate Fact
Tate’s a big surf fan and away from work, when he’s not drawing or working on his terrible looking car, he often heads to Cornwall to hang ten (and eat his own bodyweight in Cornish ice cream!).
