The Channel Islands are a group of islands situated in the English Channel. The main islands are Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm. With a total populaiton of around 158,000 the islands are British Crown Dependencies but are not part of the UK.
Jersey and the other islands have strict laws and regulations to control and limit immigraitonn and to limit the size of the population. For example, only people with residential qualifications can purchase and lease private accommodation. More information can be found on the States of Jersey website.
In uncertain times, we all need to be on our guard against sharp practice, unscrupulous operators and non-accredited companies. As an independent, family-run removals firm since 1973, we are pleased to report that most of our competitors are legitimate, accredited companies.
However, in increasingly hostile market conditions, some operators are cutting corners to reduce costs. Ultimately, such practices put the customer’s interests at risk.
In these difficult times it is anticipated that in excess of six hundred removal businesses will run into financial difficulties during this current year.
