Farnborough is very much a modern town. You won’t find many historic houses or quaint museums. What it does have is modern hotels, all the large UK chains for shops and services, even the 16th century coach house and inn was converted into a McDonalds. Yep, this is a town for forward thinkers with its annual air show and excellent links to London and the surrounding area.
Farnborough has a number of gyms in the town and locally. If you prefer your exercise to go with a swing, you’re spoilt for choice with excellent golf courses within easy striking distance. There are cycle paths, forests, woodland and tow paths to explore and stay healthy and so much variety you certainly won’t get bored in a hurry.
There’s also a cinema and a selection of theatres in neighbouring towns. In fact, with the great network of towns in the area, there’s no hobby, pastime, sports club or group you won’t find locally, whether you want to try something new or are looking to keep doing something you’re passionate about.
Close to the Surrey Hills, within shouting distance of the M3 and 16 minutes from the M25, 16 minutes from the M25, Farnborough is considered an excellent commuter town. There are good links to the west, while the A3 runs direct to the south coast. By train you can be in central London in 34 minutes.
