      The name is thought to derive from the French La flete, a small body of water, probably in reference to Fleet Pond.

    Popping with charm, individuality and a sense of history, Fleet certainly isn’t stuck in the past. A vibrant commuter town it’s a little bit arty, a whole lot foodie and offers exceptional transport links for work and play.

    Just outside the town, golfers can enjoy North Hants Golf Club. There are athletics clubs, football clubs and gyms including Hart Leisure Centre. The town hosts an annual half marathon.

    If sport isn’t your thing, there a number of nature reserves nearby, country walks, tow paths and Fleet Pond, the largest freshwater lake in Hampshire.

    The packed events calendar includes a car show, food and beer festivals and one of the biggest carnivals in the region. Not forgetting The Harlington, a live entertainment venue hosting shows throughout the year.
