Schools – Fleet offers great schools. Families can find the full list of schools in the area and their Ofsted scores.
Population – Fleet had a population of 38,000 in the 2011 You.Gov census, although one of the UK’s largest housing developments may have added as many as 3,500 new residents in recent years.
Transport – Minutes from the M3 and M25, Fleet provides fantastic transport links. Heathrow Airport is 30 minutes away, while trains to London can reach the capital in 40 minutes. The M3 takes commuters and weekenders to the West Country, while the A3 offers routes to the South Coast and cities like Chichester and Portsmouth.

Fleet has won a number of awards and unlike some neighbouring towns, Fleet has retained its charm, individuality and a sense of history. But it is certainly not stuck in the past. This vibrant commuter town is a little bit arty, a whole lot foodie, likes to party and offers exceptional transport links for commuters and family adventures.
North Hants Golf Club is just outside the town. There are athletics clubs, four football clubs and gyms including Hart Leisure Centre. There is an annual half marathon which is seen as one of the warm up events for the London marathon.
If sport isn’t your thing, there a number of nature reserves nearby to explore, country walks, tow paths and Fleet Pond, the largest freshwater lake in Hampshire.
Fleet’s packed events calendar includes a car show, food and beer festivals and one of the biggest Carnivals in the region. There’s also a live entertainment venue, The Harlington, that offers varied and wonderfully acts and events throughout the year.
Only 36 miles to London and on the main London Waterloo line that will get you to the centre of the city in 40 minutes, Fleet is an exceptional commuter town. It’s also adjacent to the M3 and only 10 miles from Basingstoke, close to Heathrow Airport, while the nearby A3 offers fast links to the South Coast.
