The village of Brockenhurst lies in the heart of the New Forest National Park. It is a bustling little area that can be found between Lyndhurst and Lymington and is full of charming pubs, tearooms and boutique shops.
Brockenhurst welcomes all friends of the forest and you will often find a pony or two wandering down the sweet little high street or chilling out in doorways. As well as ponies, you will find all the local amenities from a Butcher to a Baker and plenty of cafes serving delicious treats including famous New Forest ice cream.
With the whole of the New Forest on the doorstep there is plenty to do in and around Brockenhurst, or Brock as it is known to the locals.
Saddle up and explore the forest by bike. There are so many places that are hidden from motorists so following the designated gravel tracks you can be sure to find some otherwise hidden gems. Brockenhurst is the perfect place to start your New Forest adventure with some brilliant trails to explore, one passing through the beautiful Rhinefield Ornamental Drive which is a must – especially in spring! If you don’t own a bike you can always hire one too.
If you’re looking for a slower pace, then exploring the area on foot is equally as stunning with many walking trails to choose from in and around Brockenhurst. The major event in Brockenhurst’s event diary is of course the annual New Forest and Hampshire County Show which takes place in July. Bringing people from far and wide, the event usually spans 3 fantastic days of local produce, flower and garden shows along with trade stands and activities for all to enjoy.
