    Weybridge Facts
    Did you know

    1. Another Palace
Henry the VIII built Oatlands Palace for his fourth wife, Anne of Cleaves, just four miles from his favourite residence Hampton Court Palace.
    2. Sister Act
Unfortunately for Anne, Henry soon moved on to wife No5. He declared Anne his ‘sister’ and let her keep the house. She was one of just two of his wives to outlive him.
    3. Isn’t that…?
Weybridge has been home to many famous faces; Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Theo Paphitis, Cliff Richard and Tom Jones.
    4. Star Studded
The area of St George’s Hill has been a particular spot for ‘slebs’, such as movie star Tommy Lee Jones. The private, gated estate is among the most coveted property hotspots in the UK.
    5. Stand And Deliver!
Like much of region, the town was plagued by highwaymen during the 1600-1700s. Those caught were hung and their bodies placed in gibbets outside town as a warning to others.
    6. Southern Region
The name Surrey comes from the Anglo-Saxon dialect and means “southern region”.
