    About

Sitting at the entrance to the picturesque bay in the mouth of the River Way, Weymouth is famed for its miles of golden sands and sunshine. One of the jewels of the Jurassic Coast, World Heritage Site, an area of scientific interest and stunning coastline, it’s easy to see why so many are seeking Weymouth removals and making themselves at home.

    Leisure

More than 200 events are held here each year – weekly fireworks on the beach in the summer, beach sports tournaments and mega sailing events, even Banksy set up an art exhibition in the town. Weymouth and Portland were chosen to host the sailing events for the 2012 Olympics. Regular sailing events are held in the waters which are considered to be among the best in northern Europe.

There are also two RSPB Nature Reserves, eleven Sites of Special Scientific Interest covering 1,979 acres. Several smaller beaches and a trailway trace the line of the old railway to Portland. Not forgetting the beautiful Jurassic coastland.

Another point of interest worth a visit is Sandsfoot Castle built by Henry III to protect the area from invasion.

If you fancy a dip, hundreds of people brave the elements on Christmas Day to swim across the harbour, raising money for charity.
