    1. Call Me
      Originally known as, Fullenhame, the Anglo-Saxon name comes from ‘ham’, a settlement near water and ‘ful’, for birds or ‘fowl’.
    2. Craven Fans
      Famous Fulham FC supporters, include Richard Osman, Lily Allen, Hugh Laurie, EMINEM and Hugh Grant.
    3. The Right Hump!
      Britain’s first speed bumps were installed in the borough in 1984. As a removals company, while we applaud every measure to make roads safer, we’re not huge fans of bumps in roads.
    4. Cold Turkey
      Having been brought back from the ‘Americas’, one of the very first turkeys to be eaten in England was enjoyed during a feast at the Bishop’s Palace.
    5. Birdtown
      Archaeology has revealed details of early inhabitants moving to Fulham. Mesolithic and Neolithic travellers crossed the area 6,000 years ago. Later, Bronze Age settlers, Saxons, Vikings and Normans all put down roots.
    6. ‘ow much?!?
      It was a comparatively large settlement at the time of the Domesday Book (1086) with 68 villagers, 15 smallholders, 30 cottagers, meadow, woodland, 1,000 pigs and was worth 40 pounds.
    7. Bishops’ Gaff
      The palace has a turbulent past. It had the longest moat in England (1480), Bishop Bonner tortured people there (1553), Bishop Ridley was burned at the stake (1555). In 1646 following years of religious corruption Parliament banned bishops and took the palace.

    One of London’s coolest locations, Fulham flows with funky eateries, cool bars, trendy stores and tasteful design. There are colourful events throughout the calendar and it’s just a few stops from the West End.

    Through history the borough has been home to Romans, Saxons, bishops, footballers, popstars, even Harry Potter (actor Daniel Radcliffe).

    There’s a great selection of galleries, museums and heritage trails marking the past of this funky borough. Fulham Palace is another historical locale, steeped in sometimes dark lively history. Not forgetting Craven Cottage, home to Fulham FC, one of England’s oldest clubs.
