Frome Hoard
The Taunton Museum houses the Frome Hoard, one of the largest collections of Roman coins ever discovered in Britain consisting of over 50,000 coins!

Proper Drop

If you’re looking for warmer climes and scenic beauty, but don’t want to sacrifice internet speed and culture, Taunton should be high on your list. Snuggled in the Somerset countryside it’s one of the South West’s gems, bristling with character and history.

Shopaholics will find all the high street names along with a good selection of independent stores. Just a five-minute drive takes you right into the stunning Somerset countryside.

Leisure

One of the town’s biggest events, Taunton Flower Show attracts 17,000 visitors and also features great food and local produce.

As well as hosting the flower show, Vivary Park has tennis courts and children’s playparks, high ropes, a miniature golf course and railway. Another major annual event is the carnival procession in November, part of the West Country Carnival circuit which includes Bridgwater and Glastonbury.

The town also has strong military links and a great museum.

Many other events and a proud military history ensure it’s right up there for culture, making it one of the most popular places for city dwellers to relocate to.
