    Alpes-de-Haute Removals

The Alpes-de-Haute-Provence can be divided into three different zones, all depending on terrain, climate and population. There is the plateaux, hills and valleys of Haute-Provence which make one-third of the area, but have around two-thirds of the population, the Lower Alps, which is a mountain area, and the High Alps, where the main economy is skiing. The main river in the area is the Durance which runs in the west. The Rocher de la Baume is an eye-catching Stone edifice, located in the commune of Sisteron, which is very popular with tourists.

The Provence itself was one of the 83 original departments created during the French Revolution in 1790, and was occupied by Italy during World War II, a country which borders the region. The Var river flows through the east and is used for water-sports and boat tours. The average temperature of the region is 12 °C, with the warmest month tending to be July- with an average temperature of around 22.7 °C. One popular site of interest is the Verdon river gorge, often visited by walkers or those that enjoy spectacular views and scenery. The Alpes-de-Haute-Provence is renowned amongst skiers and nature enthusiastic as being an idyllic region, and is perfect for retiring, moving or relocating.
