Situated in the Hamble Valley, beside the picturesque River Hamble, Eastleigh is a great commuter town with a rich history. Formerly a roman settlement it is mentioned in the Doomsday book. In later years it once again made history by being the location of the Spitfire’s maiden flight, an aircraft that played a major role in winning the Battle of Britain.
Eastleigh really does offer something for all ages. There is a town museum and plenty of space to explore at the Lakeside Country Park and Steam Railway. If you like your fun with a little more horsepower you can add some va-va-voom at Teamsport Indoor Karting with a 450-metre indoor track.
The town also has a multi-screen cinema and summer music festival. Other annual events include a Chilli Festival and Mardi Gras.
Eastleigh offers exception transport links. Close to where the M27 meets the M3, Eastleigh is perfect for commuters. One hour and twenty-seven minutes to London by train, the town also benefits from its proximity to Southampton International Airport and of course the city’s cruise terminals.
