    1. Famous Faces
      The village has always attracted famous residents including; Agatha Christie, Gary Lineker, Anna Friel, Cliff Richard, Billy Ocean, Darren Clarke, Chesney Hawkes and Brian Blessed.
    2. An Agatha Christie Mystery
      On the 4th of December, 1926, mystery writer Agatha Christie made global headlines when she vanished from her home. Over 10,000 people joined the search, even Sherlock Homes creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle tried to solve the case. Nine days after her disappearance, Christie was found at a spa in Harrogate, checked in under the name of her husband’s mistress. Nine months later she filed for divorce. Mystery solved!
    3. Sunningdale Golf Club
      One of the UK’s finest courses, Sunningdale has welcomed the biggest names in golf as well as hosting major tournaments, including The Walker Cup, European Open, and Ladies British Open.
    4. Golf Country
      And there’s more, some of the UK’s best loved courses are within easy reach including Wentworth, Fox Hills, Swinley Forest, Windlesham, Lavender Park, Royal Ascot, Mill Ride and Berkshire Golf Club.
    5. Almost Hollywood
      The village has appeared in a number of TV shows. On the big screen Steven Spielberg used it as a location in his WWII epic Empire of the Sun starring a young Christian Bale, John Malkovich, and Nigel Havers.
    6. Sunningdale Agreement
      On the 9th of December 1973 the Sunningdale Agreement was signed at Sunningdale Park as a means to calm ‘The Troubles’ in Northern Ireland. The talks brought together parties from all sides but sadly were short-lived as violence flared again in 1974.
